We were advised to get a breastfeeding pillow when we were expecting our son. They said it would help with the mother's back posture and for the comfort of the feeding baby.
However, this breastfeeding pillow wasn't for us for it was uncomfortable (it hit my ceasarean scar). We've never used this pillow. We only took it out of the packaging once to try it out.
